The NFL has announced the veteran pass-rusher has been suspended for 2 games for a violation of the league’s policy on performance-enhancing substances.
While there were questions on Quinn’s availability for Week 1 before this news because of the injury, it’s likely Quinn should be fully healed when he comes backagain.
He’s permitted to practice in training camp and even play in the preseason games, although it’s unlikely that’s injury would allow him to participate.
The Cowboys traded for Quinn in the offseason, adding the former Pro Bowl pass rusher who has 69 career sacks, and in last four at every one of his eight pro seasons.
DeMarcus Lawrence (shoulder surgery) remains on the PUP list and has to practice. Tyrone Crawford is in precisely the same boat with a hip injury and could be facing action from the NFL regarding a summertime off-the-field incident. Randy Gregoy remains suspended and his schedule for return is unknown.
That leaves Taco Charlton, Dorance Armstrong, Kerry Hyder and a host of rookies which will have the chance to leap into the mix during these four preseason games.
